When ordinary parents go to work they drop off their three and four year olds at pre-school. But it’s not that easy when you’re a world-renowned super-hero and even your toddler can bend steel in his bare hands. What school is equipped to deal with a four year old girl who can turn into a living shadow, or a three year old boy whose temper tantrums turn him into an uncontrollable monster? A real monster!
There’s only one answer!
MRS. POWERS PRE-SCHOOL FOR SUPER-POWERED CHILDREN
Mrs. Powers Pre-School is run by Mrs. Agnes Powers, a no-nonsense head-mistress whom some might remember as the beautiful 1950s super-heroine, The Protectress. Back in the 50s, no super-villain could escape her atomic punch and rocket speed. By the time most of her powers faded, Mrs. Powers opened up her Pre-School to take care of other heroes’ kids. Early each day, before beginning their morning rounds, the super-heroes drop their offspring at Pre-School and pick them up late that night. During that time it is up to Mrs. Powers to keep the kids safe, busy and happy while also teaching them how to use their burgeoning abilities.
But some of the kids, well, aren’t so easily amused. After all, these are kids with super-powers. How are you going to keep ‘em down on the farm after they’ve seen Jupiter and Mars? They have all these great powers, so why, they wonder, aren’t they allowed to use them? And why can’t they just go with their moms and dads and fight crime and evil, too? It’s just not fair!
Then there’s another problem: What happens when the Midnight Avenger, the Morph and the other heroes are busy fighting crime elsewhere when something else happens that needs super-powered attention? Who’s going to save everyone when a playground is attacked by THE MEANSTERS – the offspring of evil monsters? What happens when THE BRAT BRIGADE – the children of super-villains - invades a circus? And what do you do when PRINCE GROGARR of Planet 12 and a Half invades a baseball stadium on kids’ night? Someone’s got to save those kids, don’t they?
At least that’s the way THE MIGHTY MITES see things.
Led by MAX MORPHO, a rambunctious four-year old who could get into trouble sitting still in a chair, the other Mites: SPINNER, L’IL MONSTER and NIGHTY KNIGHT, sneak out of Mrs. Powers Pre-School to use their powers, have great adventures, and be guardians to kids everywhere.
Of course, THE MIGHTY MITES are just learning how to use their abilities. They make more mistakes than not, but somehow they manage to save the day and get back to school before their parents find out they’ve left.
